My name is Nazih Khalife, I am a corporate communications professional and I am on a journey from public relations to digital communications.
My journey to the digital world started when I got my first hotmail address at 14 years old. From that moment onwards, I started travelling virtually. At the speed of a click, I teleported myself around the world to get in touch with my family and friends in France, the U.S.A, Dubai, Lebanon and Oman.
Fascinated by the power of technology and particularly the web in 2007, I provided a practical proposal to SCRATCH, a Southampton based charity, with recommendations to improve their website. Also, during my experience with MCI Dubai, a globally integrated Association, Communication, Congress and Event Management Company, in 2008, I advised various organizations on their digital strategy.
Content is king
Content is king. I learned this first hand in 2006, when I wrote interactive games for the launch of new products for Momentum PR, in Muscat, Oman. I also created web content for “Your Interactive Daily Echo’s” section, in 2007, during my role as a journalist with the Daily Echo, a local newspaper of Southampton.
Online monitoring is crucial, especially in the digital world. It goes fast and part of my work with Burson-Marsteller Dubai in 2011, I was responsible for undertaking daily monitoring on social networks, blogs and forums for the UAE Federal National Council Elections.
With a 360 degree vision of the world and direct experience of France, the U.K, Dubai and Oman, I am in a good position to understand social media and the challenges of organisations at a global scale. From Lebanese origins, I grew up in France, went to the university in the U.K (Southampton and Manchester) and had my first work experience in Dubai (U.A.E).
I hold an MSc in Corporate Communications and Reputation Management from Manchester Business School, whose MBA is currently ranked by the FT 5th in the UK, 11th in Europe and 29th in the world. I also, hold a B.A (Hons) in Public Relations and Communication from Southampton Solent University. This BA is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), the national body responsible for professional standards in PR across the UK.
